Pet Pharmacy
Prescription Refills
Please allow a minimum of 3 business days for your pet’s prescriptions to be refilled for medications that are stocked at the clinic. If the prescription is a special order, please allow 7 business days and we require a deposit when it is requested. If the prescription is needed in less than 3 business days, there will be a $10 STAT prescription fee in addition to the prescription cost.
This ensures that your doctor has enough time to review your pet’s medical record, make sure no changes are needed to the prescription, and approve the refill. In addition, it allows sufficient time to process the prescription.
Please note that we are occasionally experiencing delivery delays from our suppliers that are out of our control. If one should arise, we appreciate your patience and we will find a solution that will not cause a disruption in your pet’s treatment.
Prescription Refunds
Any prescription medication that has left the building, regardless of whether or not it has been opened, CANNOT BE RETURNED. As all of our medications are regulated by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) we are subject to the same dispensing laws as human pharmacies. Please remember that Heartgard is still a prescription item and falls under these regulations.
Written Scripts
We will only provide a written script for third-party pharmacies. We require a $10.00 processing fee for the doctor to review your pet’s medical record for all prescription requests that do not coincide with a physical exam or recent lab work and for support staff to “call-in” or fax any prescriptions to any third-party pharmacy. The fee applies to each request per pet.
Update to Online Pharmacy: If you would like to purchase medications from a third party online pharmacy, we require a $10.00 processing fee for the doctor to review your pet’s medical record for refill authorizations and for support staff to “call in” or fax any prescriptions that do not coincide with a physical exam or recent lab work. The fee applies to each request per pet. Please place your order through the online pharmacy of your choice and they will send an authorization request to the clinic to process. We will contact you to collect the $10 processing fee before the request is sent to the veterinarian for approval.
Online Pharmacies
Rolling Hill Pet Clinic offers an online pharmacy that is linked to your pet’s medical record through VETSOURCE. It is the only cloud-based ePrescribing tool our clinic uses and creates prescriptions for Home Delivery in a matter of seconds. All prescriptions processed through Vetsource offer the same in-clinic manufacturer rebates and will not incur any prescription processing fees.
Rolling Hills Pet Clinic will not fax a prescription to any online pharmacy. If you would like to purchase medications from one of these companies we can provide you with a written prescription and ask that you come pick it up. There will be a $10.00 processing fee for the doctor to review your pet’s medical record for refill authorizations that does not coincide with a physical exam.
